Privacy Policy Notice.
In order to comply with the new GDPR regulations being enforced in Europe on 25th May 2018, changes are being implemented on Allsorts challenge blog. These changes are being made with immediate effect.
Winners posts will no longer contain links to individual blogs. They will feature the image of the winning entry as entered into Linky by the individual and their name only. It will be the responsibility of those winners to contact us to register their claim for the prize on offer.
Entries making a Top 5 spot will feature an image of the entry as entered into Linky by the individual and the name of the entrant but no link to their blog.
All historical winners posts are being updated and names/blog links removed.
Linky information of entries made by individuals will be displayed for a maximum of six months only. All historical Linky's have being deleted and this process will be maintained on an ongoing basis.
Those entering a piece of artwork into Linky do so in the knowledge that their name and blog links are visible to all who visit this blog and is deemed their consent that their entry may be displayed on a winners or Top 5 post should it be selected.
Those leaving a comment on any post on this blog do so in the knowledge that their name and blog link are visible to all who visit this blog and by providing the comment, they have published their own personal details on this blog and also consented to our use of that personal information for that specific purpose.
Once a winner has claimed their prize their details will be securely destroyed.
Well done Brenda. Xxx
ReplyDeleteLove this. Don't give in to these silly regulations. You've warned and informed plus deleting personal links. Can't do anymore than that xx

Hi Brenda,
ReplyDeletebrilliat solution.
I always thought if you entered a challenge you automatically were giving your permission.
Can't understand some peoples logic about this.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Don't these regulations only apply to businesses or organisations selling goods or services - as in Google, rather than anyone using their blogger platform for personal blogs?
ReplyDeleteOne of the points I read is that, where blogs are concerned, these regulations only apply if you're making money through your blog. If not they don't apply, which makes sense as any fines for non-compliance are a percentage of annual turnover.
"Recital 18: This Regulation does not apply to the processing of personal data by a natural person in the course of a purely personal or household activity and thus with no connection to a professional or commercial activity. Personal or household activities could include correspondence and the holding of addresses, or social networking and online activity undertaken within the context of such activities. However, this Regulation applies to controllers or processors which provide the means for processing personal data for such personal or household activities."
If any part of the regulations applies to blog challenges it seems to be giving out email addresses and home addresses of winners, which I've never seen any blog challenge do, rather than the names and blog urls that we willingly give when we enter challenges.
